Nooaitch Indian Band recognizes that investing in our youth is the single most important strategy to ensuring a prosperous future of our community. To support youth, the Education Department provides a number of programs and services to support students in the community including the school start-up allowance and post-secondary funding.
Kathie Jumbo is the Education Department's representative for post-secondary and University programs. Kathie assists students in obtaining sponsorship for College or University programs. There is an annual intake which students must reapply every year. The deadline is the third Friday of May each year.

United for Literacy's Nooaitch Community Literacy Catalyst, Saraya Firingstoney is running an after school program for elementary students. A typical session includes reading, time for homework support, group activities and healthy snacks.
We help with school start up supplies to K-12 students living on Nooaitch Indian Band land, and books, tuition, living allowance to post-secondary students.
Nooaitch Indian Band signed a Local Education Agreement (LEA) with School District #58, for NIB students attending the public school system in Merritt. The LEA provides a significant opportunity to come together to focus on ways to improve educational outcomes for NIB students. We are currently in a joint Five-Year Agreement with SD 58 and the five bands of the Nicola Valley. Coldwater, Lower Nicola, Nooaitch, Shackan and Upper Nicola Bands. This project is a fully funded Indigenous Agricultural Training Program for Indigenous Communities throughout BC. The program length is two (2) months introductory training. This program is managed by the First Nations Agricultural Association of BC.

The Aboriginal Head Start Association of British Columbia (AHSABC) is a leader in Aboriginal Early Childhood Education. They provide support to Nooaitch Indian Band and other First Nations throughout the province to promote excellence in programming.
